Some of My Written Works
The Corridor by M Ray
walking down the same empty
hallway, never crossing a path to
conversation. the witches board says
yes in a frozen state, perfectly
preserved in wax and dried
butterfly glass. the tree branches
rubbing against the single pane,
scratching out a lonely
fig cry as winter returns to
chill my sad eyes. the faded
summer haze redirects into
a library of dusty books and
hieroglyphs, shadows creeping
through a dreamer's nook, stale
air trapped in a princess closet
of imaginary balls. the glow
of time passed creeping into
the springs of a fading
velvet recline. the crows
call from the eves. the
foliage falling on rotting plums,
forming a stomped harvest trail
Embers by MRay
more fire helps strengthen
passions on the verge of embrace
becoming one kind of garden shared by no other
'one stone'
in the fields of water
love requires the same thing:
dreams made real
an emotional delight
'one for the present'
revisiting tender words not shown
fruitless efforts to extend this limit
and say this is the destiny
discovering it's not so simple to move
'forever our past'
The Dream by MRay
I put one hand over his eyes and
called the idea of a whole
life of
pale lemon-lime leaves
edged in neon green,
of the tiny dusty purple lotus vine
and emerging seedlings
inches apart
It is a special world I know through
the jewels we explored
in
ordinary light
